This is only the second Williams Sonoma cookbook in our growing collectionsurprising perhaps as they seem to have published dozens I love a cookbook with extralocal food quirks, historical connectionsthe whys and whoms that influenced the regional foodsand this series has that Looks to be good food that a native Mainer can understand, cook and enjoy. This book is just as much an homage to the city and people of New Orleans as it is a cookbook The stories of the food are simply lovely, and make me want to go back deeply. In fact, the only reason I don t like it is because many of the recipes feel above my ability or outside my interest. This series is very well produced and the recipes do tend to work out just not especially imainative Gives a lot of information about the city itself, including some history and info about the different sections Also has informational bits about the types of foods that are popular there, and soem of the background, etc Then it gets to the recipes themselves There are tons of photos, too I d say it s a book that anyone who is interested in New Orleans, or who is taking a trip there in the future should check out before making their trip.
