The Clear Qurân A Thematic English Translation Alhumdulilah Alhumdulilah Alhumdulilah for this translation and the clarity of it makes so much easier for a non Arabic speaker to understand and contemplate over the verses rather than just rushing through it Jazak Allah khair Anyone who wants to get a clear understanding of the holy Quran must buy this translation as it is easy to read and does not contain Shakespeare kind of words A must buy First time reading the Quran I m not a Muslim, nor am I thinking about changing my religion I m just a student of history with a strong interest in religious studies I found the Quran a fascinating historical document and very interesting theological treatise An essential reading for anyone who wishes to learn about Islam, how it s a faith of peace and union, and how it is surprisingly close to the judeo christian tradition in many aspects. I was not a big fan of the previous translation by this group but found this version to be clear and understandable. The single best translation of the Quran available in English The next step forward in unlocking the beauty, simplicity and truth of the original Quran in English, the Clear Quran is easy and enjoyable to read while simultaneously remaining the most accurate and comprehensive way to understand the holy book of Islam in any language except Arabic. Well translated Well translated compared to others Also very easy to read as it contains an Index of themes one is looking for. This edition of the Quran is simply and elegantly translated I loved the inclusion of footnotes which provided explanations of verses, cross references, or alternate translations There is helpful and abundant introductory material from the publisher and translator, including an elucidation of the structure, style, emphases, historical context, and Common questions and answers about Islam are included, as is a thematic table of contents. However, I do not believe for a minute that this is the final revelation. Literally the best translation I ve ever read.Honestly, may this work be a source of barakah for the translator, Insha Allah. There are so many concepts in Arabic that are difficult to translate into English, as many people have attempted over the past century Sometimes translations are very specific but too wordy or other times they oversimplify for easier reading This translation really does a great job of conveying many difficult meanings and passages in ways that are easily understood by modern readers This book likewise is not full of thy s, thee s, and thou s Within almost every chapter is a subtitle denoting the topic of the upcoming portion that is clearly defined as not being from the text directly so it s separate and bold , but also to help the reader understand when a change in topic is occurring within the chapter, such as this portion from page 215 from Surah An Naml Judgement Day 89 Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded with what is better, and they will be secure from the horror on that Day.90 And whoever comes with an evil deed will be hurled face first into the Fire Are you rewarded except for what you used to do I met Dr Mustafa Khattab late in 2017 at a local religious seminar where he took some time to introduce this new project he recently completed with his remarkable team He s spent his academic life at Al Ahzar where he holds a PhD, is a Hafiz in all 7 modes of Quranic recitation, and a really down to earth person with lovely children.A few months went by and I saw a hardcover copy of this book at a store and picked it up It s unlike other translations I ve read before Without any exaggeration this is the quintessential English translation of the Quran to date that I ve come across The thematic ordering of verses by title really does great wonders to comprehension and has certainly helped me unpack verses with new insights into the Quranic structure and overall presentation One can notice that the Quranic themes are sequenced in a beautiful manner and can go back and forth on certain topics while keeping to its general principles and purposes This is the primary genius of this translation Other geniuses are in its clarity, phraseology and modernized language with topical footnotes that explain current day issues and misconceptions The footnotes also don t exceed the translation itself and are select and necessary You will find the introduction to be a summarized clarification into the major misconceptions most non Muslims and some Muslims alike have toward Islam, from hijab, jihad, and so on Thus, this is great for the sincere reader who would like to understand the Quran according to authentic and agreed upon tradition by the majority of practicing Muslims throughout our religious civilization One of my favourites and the first translation I recommend to others, especially new comers
